Week 10- Amber

While walking down a city street or especially in a market, I will occasionally get a whiff of one of the most unpleasant smells I have ever smelled. And instantly know what it is – silk worms! Called bondeggi, these little fried buggers are sold all over Korea and much to my surprise many people buy and eat them. I can’t even imagine what they taste like, but based on the smell know I am going to pass on ever trying them. Here is a typical Korean street vendor’s shop set up in a market, selling food and hot and cold drinks. I love Korean street food, but maybe not this kind!
