Year Three, Week Fourteen – Leah

schoolgirls

My roommate and I just got back from a unique 7 day trip to Nepal and this picture is so precious to me.
Our plane landed in Kathmandu from where we took a bus for 7 hours through the Himalayan foothills, rested for 1 night, then took a local bus 2 hours to where it stopped, then finally trekked one hour up a mountain to reach this village, nested at the base of the Annapurna Himalayan range, where we stayed among the Gurung people of Nepal for 3 days. During our time there we visited this school where there were about 70 students from all of the surrounding mountain villages that attended. These girls knew a little bit of English and they were so curious about us when we came to the school. We told them we lived in Korea and taught them how to take pictures like Korean girls their age. Perfect for the HWSK blog!
