Year Three, Week Twenty-one – Bethany

Snow

I was told that Korean winters can be very harsh, but I am on my second one and haven’t been very impressed. Supposedly it snowed much more often and with greater amounts before I moved here. As a teacher, I had crossed off the chance of a snow day for this year, when we had a surprise storm come in this week. Everything was quickly coated in white, and my hopes soared. We had school the next day, and all the snow was gone by noon. I’m ready for spring!

  • Jessica - This is my 4th winter. The second winter they cancelled school a few times, but it was for less than an inch of snow. It was silly except that Yongsan is so pitiful when it comes to clearing ice and snow. Maybe Korean winters are harsher in another part of Korea??ReplyCancel
