Year Two, Week Fourteen—Amber

We happened upon an opportunity to see Santa this week and couldn’t pass it up. My kids were slightly confused by the fact that he was Korean. “Is Santa Korean?” “Are there different Santas for different countries?” and my favorite- after sitting on Santa’s lap (actually next to Santa? They don’t sit on his lap here?) my daughter said to my husband “I KNOW he isn’t the REAL Santa because he said ‘Annyeong’ to me!”. I was tickled by this little girl who in true Asian style did the peace sign, even in her Santa photo.

  • Sherri Lantinga - I love this story and picture – we didn’t see any Santas on this side of Korea, or real trees for sale, and nothing closed for Xmas eve or the day itself. No snow, either. So, so strange.ReplyCancel

  • Cindy - Pure awesomeness!ReplyCancel

  • Jessica - Poor Santa. He can’t do the peace sign because of his mittens. 🙁ReplyCancel
