Year Two, Week Thirteen – Jessica

2-13

The only time I really feel warm these days is when I compare the weather in Seoul to the weather in my beloved Minnesota.  That sunshine is deceiving!  A temperature of 33°F is a heatwave compared to the Minnesota high of 1°F.  All this to say that my photos will be taken close to home for the foreseeable future.  Baby, it’s cold outside!!

These are the tolls at the entrance to one of the Namsan tunnels.  We drive through there almost every day.  I big pink puffy heart this tunnel and toll.  Weird, I know, but there’s a reason.  These tolls allow us to live in a VERY cool area, but within minutes of Yongsan (ie work, grocery store, friends, etc).  There are many other places we could have lived that are closer, but would take longer to get to from post.  The tolls mean that my husband is only one bus stop away from work.  How great is that commute!?  We usually don’t even end up paying since it’s free if you have 3 or more people in the car.  With two kids home all day, that’s pretty much always for us.  The toll also cuts down on some of the traffic that goes by our apartment.  You don’t really go down the road we’re on unless you want to end up on the other side of the mountain.  Just be warned, if you’re going to try to get out of downtown this way around 6:30 pm … well, you might be spending a bit of time in the tunnel.
