Year Two, Week Thiry-one – Guest

South Korea is full of contrast.  In the Spring, the country comes alive after a very long  and bleak winter.  With the spring comes the vivid colors and vibrant flowers.  There are many festivals and locations to celebrate this glorious awakening.  My husband and I traveled outside of Seoul to take in the Goryosan Mountain, which is covered in Azaleas for 3 weeks in April/May.  Koreans love to spend time outside and love to hike, they take it very seriously with their matching outfits, walking sticks, and expensive cameras.  Just beyond the river in the background is North Korea, another stark contrast to the beauty that is in South Korea.
