I have a love hate relationship with this city. The amount of opportunities to discover new and amazing things are boundless, yet I loathe
the crowds. I enjoy my American bubble that is supposed to keep strangers at an arms distance. Attempting to flag down a taxi and navigating my way through the subway, with the seemingly endless amount of stairs, kids, and strollers in tow, certainly leaves me questioning my sanity.
However, this past weekend was the annual Hi Seoul Festival and I decided to brave it. With street performances at every major plaza in downtown Seoul, we headed toward the Cheonggyecheon Stream. This particular show was called Pound It Macbeth and it absolutely captivated my kids. We couldn’t understand much, but the comedy, music, and martial arts left them laughing
and clapping for most of the performance.
While I had my personal space invaded on more than one occasion, including having my muffin top poked at by an ajumma, I’d say it was worth the trip!
