Year Two, Week Twenty-nine—Amber

At almost every park, walking path, or nature area in Korea you will find some sort of work out equipment like this. We have been hiking and found it at the top of a mountain. We have seen it under a bridge. We have also seen it outside apartment buildings. Most of the time when I see them I am perplexed at them and scoff. The far left silver machine is one where you put your feet on the circle and spin from side to side. Sometimes there are ones where a person is to move his or her arms circularly using the machine. The man at the park today was using the bar to massage his hamstring. These machines seem popular with the 65+ crowd. In some ways the machines seem silly and make me chuckle inside, and in other ways I think they are awesome and a testament to how active the 65+ crowd really is in Korea!
